IN SOUTHEASTERN EUROPE

Closer to your
working day.

Serbia sits in Southeastern Europe, with Belgrade as its capital. For companies across Europe, a shared time zone can make meetings, feedback and everyday collaboration easier to plan.

For teams elsewhere, overlap depends on your actual location and agreed schedules. We help you discuss those expectations with candidates early.

A FEW FACTS, WITH CONTEXT

Numbers you can
put in perspective.

Each figure below carries its reference year and source. These are verified public-data snapshots, not a live data feed or a claim about the size of the hiring market.

BEYOND A COUNTRY SNAPSHOT

The right market
for your actual role.

Serbia has engineering and technology communities alongside professionals in operations, finance, design and other business disciplines. A country-level statistic cannot tell you whether the right person is available for your brief.

How we approach your talent search

Start with skills and expectations.

Define the experience, communication needs and responsibilities that matter. We discuss candidate availability and compensation expectations around that role.

Plan the employment details early.

Gross salary is only part of the budget. Local payroll contributions, benefits, working arrangements and employment responsibilities should be clear before an offer is made.

Build a relationship that lasts.

A strong start includes clear onboarding, a place in your team and practical local support. Bridge stays involved through employment administration and everyday people questions.

LOCAL PEOPLE. LOCAL EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT.

Explore Serbia.
With Bridge beside you.

Our business has been operating in Serbia since 2017. We connect recruitment with local employment support so your team can grow through one ongoing relationship. Recruitment is free for candidates employed through Bridge EOR; employment costs and EOR fees are separate.

PLANNING YOUR NEXT HIRE

Local context.
Practical answers.

Is Serbia in the European Union?

Serbia is in Europe but is not an EU member state. Employment, payroll and immigration arrangements follow the applicable Serbian rules. Do not assume that EU employment or work authorisation rules automatically apply.

Which roles and locations should we consider?

Belgrade and Novi Sad are useful starting points for a discussion about technology and business roles, but the right search area depends on the skills and working arrangements you need. We review candidate availability for your specific brief instead of treating the whole country as one talent pool.

Can employees work remotely?

Remote and hybrid arrangements depend on the role, employment terms and applicable requirements, including workplace safety. We help you agree the practical setup before onboarding.

How should we estimate the hiring budget?

Start with the role and a realistic Gross I salary, then account for employer contributions, Service Fee, Operational Fees and FX handling. Our employment cost calculator helps you compare scenarios; individual compensation expectations still need to be reviewed during the search.
